The presentation of our understanding on the various topics of Scripture may be different from that of others who may be just as sincere in their undertaking.  We encourage you to examine the material presented and to measure it against Scripture for its true worth.

Though we differ in understanding from most others, we are not the only ones who hold on to these convictions.  Others, too, have been painstakingly and lovingly presenting the truths of Scripture in their own quiet way, waiting on God to present them to those whom He is now calling.

Unless otherwise stated, all scriptural quotations are as found in the Concordant Literal New Testament (or Concordant Version, CV). The CV is published by the Concordant Publishing Concern (CPC), located in Santa Clarita, California.  We believe that God's inspiration has been reserved for the original autographs only.  The many Versions available to the interested Christian in his search for God's word are our far from perfect human attempts to translate the inspired revelation from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koinê Greek into our languages.  The translator's doctrinal views, whether orthodox or not, are often read into texts and thereby influence the resultant translation.  The CV, however, eliminates this fundamental weakness by assigning concordantly pre-determined standards and idiomatic equivalents for the words in the original languages.  The result is a highly accurate Version that opens the mind to the actual revelation of Scripture.

Based on the revelation that this accurate translation affords, the CPC has published a great number of texts (books, booklets, pamphlets and expository writings) over a long period of time, all of which have been catalysts in improving our understanding of Scripture.  It is quite impossible to fully convey the sense of devotion, drive and diligence that have gone into the work produced at the CPC.  But it leaves us no doubt about Who the inspiration behind it all is.

Below are some of the CPC titles available that we would recommend to the serious student of Scripture.  The accompanying summaries are taken from the catalogue at the CPC website.

v      "God's Eonian Purpose"

This work is a thorough review of God’s plan and purpose, gathering together many of the most basic themes of Scripture, including The Beginning of Creation, The Eons and Administrations, Justification, The Conciliation, Completeness in Christ, and The Goal of the Universe.  These and other vital subjects are presented in an interesting and informative manner which will appeal to the sincere student of  Scripture for the strengthening of faith.  The book contains charts and illustrations which provide a welcome visual supplement to the text.  We live in a day when few believers have a good grasp of the truth that God has a purpose.  Many reason that as long as they themselves are saved, nothing else really matters.  But to know Christ and to rejoice in the glory of God is just as important.  We need to listen to His Word and receive the glorious revelations He has made concerning His operations and goal if we are to possess real joy and satisfying peace.

v      "Death, Resurrection, Immortality"

This work deals with the problem of death and God’s solution of resurrection and immortality through the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Writing during his final illness, the author was not anticipating a passage into an intermediate state between death and resurrection, but rather looking forward to the gift of life and immortality provided by Christ’s victory.  The widely accepted teaching of the immortality of the soul, which makes resurrection unnecessary and detracts from the value of our Lord’s sacrifice, is shown to be unscriptural.  There are provided concordant studies of the words “soul” and “spirit,” which are certain to be of much value to the reader who wants to find scriptural truth on these subjects.

v      "The Gospel of our Salvation"

This book explores the various evangels (or gospels) of the Scripture, with a special emphasis given to the message of God’s grace for believers today.  These gospels are described chronologically and include the gospel which God brought to Abraham, the gospel Gabriel brought to Zechariah, the gospel an angel brought to the shepherds, the gospel Timothy brought from the Thessalonians to Paul, the gospel of the Circumcision, the gospel of the Uncircumcision (including the “Mystery”), the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ, and the eonian (“everlasting”) gospel of the book of Revelation.

v      "The Mystery of the Gospel" or "The Secret of the Evangel"

Somehow the very word “mystery” seems to shut the door of love in our faces instead of opening portals for it.  The word “mystery” looms large and dark and shadowy.  It seems to defy understanding.  None but the wisest may even attempt the solution to a “mystery”!  Not so with the mysteries in God’s Holy Word.  They are simply secrets.  Once they were hidden and could not be known.  And yet, after God revealed them, they were easily understood by all who had ears to hear.  When the apostle Paul was held captive in Rome, his burning desire was to blaze abroad the Secret.  No longer could he go among the ecclesias to impart God’s glorious revelation, so in Ephesians 6:19 he asked his readers to pray for him that he might open his mouth with boldness “to make known the secret of the evangel.”  (An excursus concerning the Greek terms aiõn (eon) and aiõnios (eonian) is included.)

v      "The Problem of Evil and the Judgments of God"

This book traces the divine function of evil (whatever is harmful or destructive) from its inception to its consummation, by presenting scriptural solutions to the various long-debated questions concerning God and His sovereignty.  As one of its subjects, it probes and takes issue with the commonly accepted explanation that Satan, and not God, is responsible for evil.  To quote the book’s author: “Almost all of us are shortsighted.  We see the judgments, but fail to recognize that they are only part of God’s way with mankind, that they are definitely not an end.  We confuse the going with the goal.  Judgment is God’s strange work.  He uses it as a preparation toward a glorious consummation.”  The message in this book is especially valuable to us in these days of doubt and distress, to lead men to rely on and rest in God alone.

v      "All in All"

This publication is a compilation of the writings of A. E. Knoch on human destiny.  The author examines three major theories on this topic current among students of Scripture.  The striking phrase “All in all,” which pertains to the vivification of all mankind in 1 Corinthians 15:28 and relates to the reconciliation of the entire intelligent creation in Ephesians 1:23, is discussed at length.  Two extensive appendices are included, exploring the usage of the terms “eon” and “eonian” in the Scriptures.

v      "The Outcome of Infinite Grace"

“The last enemy to be destroyed is death!”  It was this verse which caused the author, a pastor, to study afresh the subject of the fate of the wicked.  The three choices apparent from a surface reading of various biblical texts were eternal torment, extermination or ultimate reconciliation.  The author studied to find which one was true.  This book is a result of that study.  Says the author, “If it proves as satisfying to the reader as it has to the writer we shall have a delightful time ‘rejoicing in hope of the glory of God.’”

v      "The Spiritual Gifts for Today"

The fourth chapter of Ephesians tells us what gifts are ours today.  There are great changes.  Most of the early gifts were dropped in this adjustment.  They are no longer needed.  Two new ones were added and three are carried over.  It is worth every effort to clarify the relation between the gifts in 1 Corinthians and those in Ephesians.  This work allows the reader to overcome the difficulties involved in this task.

v      "Creation" (An Unsearchable Riches issue)

God created this world in which we live.  The heavens and the earth did not come about by themselves, nor did they arise out of nothing.  All is out of God.  Among these pages is the explanation of the import of God’s creation of evil.  Three fundamental lessons are that God is active, evil has entered into God’s creation, and God gloriously disposes of evil by the power of His spirit and His word.  What is the purpose of the former, present, and future creations?  How do they serve for the sake of God, Christ, Satan, and humanity?  These and other lessons are discussed in this issue of Unsearchable Riches magazine.  As we learn of God’s plan, let us look forward to the glorious consummation of God’s creation.

In addition to these book titles, the CPC also publishes its bimonthly magazine, Unsearchable Riches, each January, March, May, July, September and November.  Single year personal subscriptions are available for just one US dollar - even though publishing costs run very much higher.  Donations to cover postage would be very welcome.  Please visit their website at www.concordant.org or email them at email@concordant.org for more information.

Another very helpful source for an introduction to scriptural truth is the quarterly Grace and Truth magazine.  Its articles are carefully selected and presented in an easy to understand style.  Please visit their website at www.gracetruth.com for more details.
